For comparison, re:Invent 2025 ran December 1–5, 2025, and Amazon called it the 14th annual event. The 2026 edition starts a day earlier in the calendar, on the Monday after Thanksgiving weekend.

The pass doesn't cover flights, hotel, or most meals, and those can easily cost more than the ticket. We aren't publishing an all-in estimate because hotel rates vary widely by property and night. Check the official room block first, because AWS says its hotel discounts are applied automatically after you register.
What does the re:Invent pass include?
According to AWS's FAQ, the full conference pass covers:
- Keynotes and breakout sessions. Lecture-style sessions don't require a reservation.
- Reserved-seating sessions: bootcamps (included at no extra cost), technical sessions, chalk talks, code talks, workshops, exam prep, gamified learning and select labs.
- The Expo and the broader campus experience.
- re:Play, the closing party.
- The 50% AWS Certification exam voucher mentioned above.
New this year, AWS's event page highlights an AI-powered Concierge that recommends sessions, plus reserved seating managed in the AWS Events app.
How do I reserve sessions at re:Invent?
- Register with an AWS Builder ID through the official "Register now" link on the re:Invent site.
- Browse the catalog and favorite sessions. AWS warns that favoriting doesn't reserve a seat.
- Reserve seats for workshops, chalk talks and other reserved-seating formats. Reservations can't overlap, and they're non-transferable.
- Arrive at least 10 minutes early. Otherwise AWS releases your seat to the walk-up line.
- Missed out? Look for repeat sessions (session IDs ending in "-R") or join the walk-up queue.

AWS also notes that you must be 21 or older to book at campus hotels (except Treasure Island). Guests aged 18–20 can stay if they check in with someone 21 or older.
Who is giving the keynotes at re:Invent 2026?
AWS's re:Invent pages we checked on November 1 linked to a keynote schedule but didn't list 2026 keynote speakers or times, so we won't guess. For reference, at re:Invent 2025, AWS CEO Matt Garman gave the opening keynote on Tuesday morning (8:00–10:30 a.m. PT, per Amazon's schedule), and Amazon CTO Werner Vogels gave the closing keynote (Thursday afternoon). Amazon's re:Invent 2026 news hub says this year's coverage will focus on agentic and generative AI and new product launches. We'll update this guide when AWS publishes the 2026 keynote schedule.
What could AWS announce at re:Invent 2026?
We're not speculating on unannounced products. AWS has shipped several things in the run-up that will likely be on stage:
- Graviton5 is now generally available (our explainer).
- TorchNeuron, a PyTorch backend for Trainium (explainer).
- Strong AI demand behind AWS's Q3 results (Q3 2026 earnings).
At re:Invent 2025, Amazon's roundup highlighted frontier agents (Kiro autonomous agent, AWS Security Agent and AWS DevOps Agent), Amazon Nova model expansions, Trainium3 UltraServers and Graviton5. That gives a sense of how large keynote launches usually are.
Can I watch AWS re:Invent 2026 online for free?
Yes. AWS says keynotes and select live programming are livestreamed for free. Keynotes and breakout sessions are later posted on demand. AWS's FAQ says livestream registration "will open later this year", so register through the livestream page on the official site when it opens. Keynotes are offered with translations in Japanese, Korean, Mandarin and LATAM Spanish. That helps the many viewers outside the US, since the official keynote times are in Pacific Time.
Note that the 50% certification voucher is for in-person registrants only. Virtual viewers aren't eligible.
