James Bond Movies in Order: All 25 Films and How to Watch Them on Prime Video
All 25 official James Bond films in order by release and actor, the best watch order, how to stream them on Prime Video, and Bond 26 casting news.

There are 25 official James Bond movies, from Dr. No (1962) to No Time to Die (2021), played by six actors: Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig. Amazon says all 25 are streaming on Prime Video and included with a Prime membership — Amazon's article is written for US customers, so check the Prime Video app for your own country.
Below you'll find the full list in release order, a version grouped by actor, three shorter "watch paths" if you don't have 50-plus hours to spare, how to watch on Prime Video, and where things stand on the next Bond film now that Amazon MGM Studios controls the franchise.
How many James Bond movies are there?
Twenty-five official films made by Eon Productions. Wikipedia's list of Bond films confirms the count and notes two unofficial Bond films that aren't part of the series: the 1967 Casino Royale spoof starring David Niven, and Never Say Never Again (1983), in which Sean Connery returned to the role outside the Eon series. Amazon's list (and ours) covers the official 25.

One thing that trips people up: Connery's Diamonds Are Forever (1971) comes after Lazenby's only outing, On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969). If you're watching in strict release order, Connery returns for one more film after Lazenby.
James Bond movies in order by actor
If you'd rather watch era by era:
- Sean Connery (6 films): Dr. No, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, Diamonds Are Forever
- George Lazenby (1): On Her Majesty's Secret Service
- Roger Moore (7): Live and Let Die, The Man with the Golden Gun, The Spy Who Loved Me, Moonraker, For Your Eyes Only, Octopussy, A View to a Kill
- Timothy Dalton (2): The Living Daylights, Licence to Kill
- Pierce Brosnan (4): GoldenEye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World Is Not Enough, Die Another Day
- Daniel Craig (5): Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, Skyfall, Spectre, No Time to Die
Roger Moore made the most official Bond films (seven); Lazenby made the fewest (one).
What order should I watch the James Bond movies in?
Release order is the simplest and the way most fans recommend it for a first full run. But there's an important exception: the Daniel Craig films are their own story. Wikipedia describes Casino Royale (2006) as a reboot of the series, and the Craig films then build on each other — Spectre follows on from the events of Skyfall, and No Time to Die picks up threads from Spectre. So if you only watch one era, make it the Craig five, in order, starting with Casino Royale.
The pre-2006 films are mostly standalone adventures. You can dip into them in almost any order, with a few loose recurring elements (like the villain organisation SPECTRE in the Connery era).
Pick your Bond watch path (our decision table)
Not everyone wants 25 films. Here's a guide based on how much time you have. The film counts are exact; "time" is our rough estimate assuming about two hours per film.
| If you want… | Watch these | Films | Est. time |
|---|---|---|---|
| The complete story | All 25, release order | 25 | ~50+ hours |
| One complete modern arc | Casino Royale → Quantum of Solace → Skyfall → Spectre → No Time to Die | 5 | ~12 hours |
| A taste of every Bond actor | Goldfinger (Connery), On Her Majesty's Secret Service (Lazenby), The Spy Who Loved Me (Moore), The Living Daylights (Dalton), GoldenEye (Brosnan), Casino Royale (Craig) | 6 | ~13 hours |
| The 1960s originals | The first five Connery films, Dr. No to You Only Live Twice | 5 | ~10 hours |
| Weekend before Bond 26 news | Casino Royale + Skyfall + No Time to Die | 3 | ~7 hours |
The "taste of every actor" picks are our editorial suggestions, not an official Amazon list — swap in any film from the same era if you prefer.
Are all the James Bond movies on Prime Video?
According to Amazon's own news article, all 25 official Bond films are streaming on Prime Video and are "included with an Amazon Prime membership." Amazon's article quotes US pricing — $14.99 per month or $139 per year, with discounted Prime options for young adults and qualifying government-assistance recipients, and a 30-day free trial for eligible new members.
What Amazon's article does not say is which other countries get the same lineup. Streaming rights vary by country, and in some markets a title may be available to rent or buy rather than included with Prime. Before you plan a marathon outside the US:
- Open the Prime Video app and search "James Bond".
- Look for the "Included with Prime" label on each film versus a "Rent" or "Buy" price.
- If only some are included, start with the ones that are — and check again later, since catalogues change.
We couldn't verify country-by-country availability, so we're not listing it here.
How to watch Bond movies on Prime Video
- Sign in to your Amazon account with an active Prime (or Prime Video) membership.
- Open Prime Video on your TV, Fire TV stick, console, phone or browser.
- Search for each title, or search "James Bond" to see the collection.
- Add films to your Watchlist in the order from the table above so "Continue watching" keeps you on track.
If you're also planning to start The Rings of Power Season 3 on November 11, see our Rings of Power Season 3 release schedule so the two marathons don't collide. For everything else arriving this month, there's our new on Prime Video in November 2026 list.
Why does Amazon own James Bond now?
Amazon bought MGM, the studio behind the Bond films, and in 2025 it also took creative control of the franchise. According to Amazon's article, in March 2025 Amazon MGM Studios closed a joint venture with long-time Bond producers Barbara Broccoli and Michael G. Wilson, giving it creative control of the Bond IP. Wikipedia notes that Broccoli and Wilson stepped back from producing future films but remain co-owners.
Who is the next James Bond? (Bond 26 status, November 2026)
No actor has been announced. Here is what is officially confirmed versus what's only been reported.
Confirmed by Amazon:
- Producers: Amy Pascal (Pascal Pictures) and David Heyman (Heyday Films)
- Director: Denis Villeneuve
- Screenwriter: Steven Knight
- Executive producer: Tanya Lapointe
- Casting: Amazon MGM Studios confirmed in May 2026 that casting had officially begun
- Release date: none announced
Reported, not confirmed by Amazon:
- The James Bond Dossier, a fan site that tracks Bond 26 news (updated October 26, 2026), says Deadline and The Hollywood Reporter reported on October 22 that final screen tests were imminent.
- BroBible reported on October 22, citing "the Hollywood trades" without naming them, that Callum Turner, Jack Lowden and Josh O'Connor are among the finalists, with at least one more unnamed actor.
- The James Bond Dossier also records producer Amy Pascal saying in August 2026 that year-end casting news was "a good bet" — an expectation, not an announcement.
Treat any name you see as reported until Amazon MGM confirms it. We'll update this article when the next Bond is officially announced.
What are people asking about James Bond on Prime Video?
We looked for community discussion about the Prime Video Bond collection and didn't find threads we could reliably link and quote, so we're not quoting anyone here. What we can see from Google's search suggestions is what people are trying to figure out right now:
- "James Bond movies in order Daniel Craig" — people starting with the modern arc
- "James Bond movies in order to watch" — which order makes sense
- "James Bond movies in order with actors" — who played Bond when
- "James Bond movies in order on Netflix" — people unsure which service has them
The answers to all four are in the tables above. On the last one: according to Amazon, the place to find the full official set included with a subscription is Prime Video.
Editor's take
Release order is the "right" answer, but it's also a 25-film commitment, and the 1960s–80s films can feel slow to anyone who grew up on the Craig era. Our suggestion: start with the five Craig films — they're the only Bond films that tell one continuous story, and they'll get you up to date before Amazon names the next 007. If you like them, go back to Dr. No and work forward.
The bigger picture for Amazon is that Bond is now a Prime Video library anchor while the first Amazon-produced Bond film is still years out (no date is announced). Expect Amazon to keep promoting the back catalogue — and if Bond 26 casting is announced before Christmas, as Amy Pascal has hinted, expect a surge of people looking for exactly this list.
