Blink's 5 New Cameras for 2026: 4K, Spotlight and Pan-Tilt — and Do They Need a Subscription?
Blink's 5 new cameras: Mini 4K+ ($79.99), Pan-Tilt 2K+, Spotlight Cam 2K+ and XR+ models. What works free, plan prices, and new vs old.

Short answer: No, none of the five new Blink cameras needs a subscription to work. You get live view (capped at 5 minutes a session without a plan) and motion alerts for free, and today's Blink cameras on a Sync Module 2 can save clips to a USB stick (Blink hasn't yet said whether the new models and the Sync Module XR+ support this). The plan is what you pay for if you want cloud recording, person and vehicle detection, and the new AI Video Descriptions. Blink's US plans run from $3.99 a month (Basic) to $19.99 a month (Plus ai).
Amazon's Blink announced the five cameras on 21 October 2026. The lineup includes Blink's first 4K camera, its first pan-tilt camera with 2K video, a battery-powered spotlight camera and two long-range "XR+" cameras. Here's what each one is, what it costs and where you can buy it, and an honest look at what the free tier really gets you.
What are the 5 new Blink cameras in 2026?
All five went up for preorder on announcement day. Here are the prices and specs from Amazon's own announcement:
| Camera | US price | What it is | Key specs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Blink Mini 4K+ | $79.99 | Wired indoor/outdoor camera, Blink's first 4K | 4K, 115° horizontal field of view, IP65, dual-band Wi-Fi 6, two-way audio |
| Blink Mini Pan-Tilt 2K+ | $49.99 | Indoor/outdoor pan-tilt camera | 2K, 350° pan, 115° tilt, night vision, two-way audio; outdoor use needs the Outdoor Adapter (sold separately) |
| Blink Spotlight Cam 2K+ | $109.99 | Battery-powered, wire-free spotlight camera | 2K, built-in motion-activated spotlight |
| Blink Outdoor 2K XR+ | $149.99 (1-camera system with Sync Module XR+) | Long-range outdoor camera | 2K, 115° FOV, up to 800 ft through obstructions or 2,700 ft line of sight; drops to 1080p at max range |
| Blink Frontier XR+ | $199.99 (1-camera system with Sync Module XR+) | Trail-style camera for big or remote properties | Up to 7,000 ft line of sight to the Sync Module XR+, which it requires |
Amazon didn't publish battery life, field of view or weatherproofing for every model, so we've left those cells blank rather than guess.
Blink 4K camera price and availability by country
This is where it gets a little uneven. Amazon says the Mini 4K+ and Mini Pan-Tilt 2K+ are on preorder in the US, Canada, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Australia and New Zealand.
The Spotlight Cam 2K+, Outdoor 2K XR+ and Frontier XR+ are US-only for now. Canadians can sign up for an email alert.
| Market | Mini 4K+ | Mini Pan-Tilt 2K+ | Spotlight / XR+ models |
|---|---|---|---|
| United States | $79.99 | $49.99 | Preorder now |
| Canada | C$109.99, launches 27 Oct | C$74.99, launches 27 Oct | Early 2027 (per iPhone in Canada) |
| UK, EU, Australia, NZ | Preorder; local price not published in Amazon's announcement | Preorder; local price not published | Not announced |
Amazon's announcement doesn't give US ship dates. The 27 October Canadian launch date comes from iPhone in Canada's report. Check your local Amazon store for the final price before you order.
Is there a Blink 4K outdoor camera?
Sort of. The only 4K model is the Mini 4K+. It's a small wired camera rated IP65, so you can mount it outside, but it isn't a battery camera like the Outdoor 4. If you want wire-free outdoor coverage, the new options are the Spotlight Cam 2K+ and the Outdoor 2K XR+, and both are 2K.
Editor's take: Searching "Blink 4K outdoor camera" will probably bring you to the Mini 4K+. Before you buy, make sure there's a power outlet near the spot you want to cover.
Do the new Blink cameras require a subscription?
No. Still, the free experience has real limits, and Blink lists them on its own pages. Here's the split:
Works without a plan (per Blink's plans and support pages):
- Live view. You can watch, but "without a subscription, live view is limited to 5 minutes for all devices."
- Motion alerts. Your phone still gets a notification when motion is detected.
- Local storage on a Sync Module 2. Plug in a USB drive (1 GB to 256 GB, bought separately) and Blink says clips automatically save there when you're not on a plan. The app lists your most recent clips (up to 1,000 from the last 30 days), and you can read the rest by plugging the drive into a computer. The cheaper Sync Module Core doesn't do local storage.
Needs a Blink Subscription Plan:
- Cloud recording, with clips stored for up to 60 days
- Extended live view of up to 90 minutes, plus live view recording
- Person and vehicle detection. Amazon specifically says this needs a plan on the Mini 4K+ and Mini Pan-Tilt 2K+
- Photo capture, Blink Moments and automatic daily USB backup
Needs an "ai" plan:
- Video Descriptions, which are AI text summaries of clips. At launch they work only on the Mini 4K+, only in the US, Canada and UK, and not in Illinois
- Known Faces (beta), Single Event Alerts and Unusual Activity Alerts
What about Alexa+? Amazon's Blink announcement doesn't mention Alexa+ features for these cameras. If you're curious how Alexa+ handles cameras across Amazon devices, see our Alexa+ explainer.
One open question is local storage on the new models. Amazon hasn't said which of them support the Sync Module 2's USB storage. The XR+ cameras pair with the new Sync Module XR+, and we haven't seen Blink confirm whether that hub takes a USB drive. We'll update this once Blink's support pages list the new models.
How much is a Blink subscription in 2026?
These prices come straight from Blink's plan pages, which add tax on top:
| Plan | US monthly | US yearly | UK monthly | UK yearly | Covers |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Basic | $3.99 | $39.99 | £2.50 | £24.99 | One device |
| Plus | $11.99 | $119.99 | £8.00 | £80.00 | Unlimited devices |
| Basic ai | $6.99 | $69.99 ($49.99 first year) | £5.49 | £54.99 (£34.99 first year) | One device |
| Plus ai | $19.99 | $199.99 ($149.99 first year) | £14.99 | £149.99 | Unlimited devices |
The US Basic and Plus prices went up on 8 October 2025, from $3 and $10 a month. Blink says ai plans are only sold in the US, Canada and the UK. We couldn't confirm current Canadian, Australian or EU plan prices from Blink's own pages, so check the Blink app in your region.
Editor's take: If you have one camera, Basic at $3.99 a month gets you cloud clips and person detection. Once you have three or more, Plus works out cheaper. I'd pay for Basic ai only if you're buying the Mini 4K+ for its Video Descriptions, since that's the only new camera that gets them for now.
New Blink cameras vs old: what actually changed?
| Previous model | New 2026 model | What's better | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Plug-in mini camera | Blink Mini 2 (1080p) | Mini 4K+ | 4K, IP65 outdoor rating, Wi-Fi 6 |
| Pan-tilt | Mini Pan-Tilt mount with a 1080p Mini (2022) | Mini Pan-Tilt 2K+ | Built-in 2K camera, 350° pan / 115° tilt |
| Battery outdoor camera | Outdoor 4 (1080p) | Spotlight Cam 2K+ | 2K plus a built-in spotlight, still wire-free |
| Long-range | Outdoor 4 + standard Sync Module | Outdoor 2K XR+ / Frontier XR+ | Up to 2,700 ft / 7,000 ft line-of-sight range with Sync Module XR+ |
Editor's take: If you own an Outdoor 4 and it covers your yard, I don't think this year's lineup is a must-upgrade. The bigger jumps are the Mini 4K+ for a sharper view of a porch or driveway, and the XR+ cameras if you have land, a barn or a long gate that Wi-Fi never reached.
Blink vs Ring: which should you buy?
Amazon owns both brands, but they're aimed at different buyers.
- Pick Blink if you want cheap cameras, long battery life and a real free tier with local USB storage on the Sync Module 2.
- Pick Ring if you want a fuller ecosystem: doorbells, an alarm system, professional monitoring and more Alexa integration. Ring leans on a subscription much more for recorded video.

What are readers and owners saying?
The cameras were announced a day ago, and we haven't found substantive owner comments on r/blinkcameras, r/homesecurity or AFTVNews yet. We won't make any up. These are the questions we're seeing people ask:
- Will the Mini 4K+ record 4K to a USB drive, or only to the cloud?
- Does the Sync Module XR+ support local storage?
- How long does the Spotlight Cam 2K+ battery last with the light on?
- Will Video Descriptions reach the Outdoor and Spotlight models?
