Amazon Connect adds Global Resiliency readiness dashboard

Amazon Connect has introduced a new Global Resiliency page in its admin website to help administrators monitor their Amazon Connect resiliency readiness for regional failovers. This update provides a centralized view of how well resources are synchronized across linked AWS Regions, making it easier to prepare for potential outages.

What is the new Amazon Connect Global Resiliency page?

  • A dedicated Global Resiliency dashboard within the admin console.
  • An overall readiness status indicator for the entire setup.
  • A detailed list of natively replicated resources, categorized by status: in sync, pending synchronization, or requiring action.
  • Direct management tools to resolve configuration issues directly from the page.

Why does Amazon Connect resiliency readiness matter?

For contact center administrators, maintaining business continuity during a regional outage is essential. This tool allows users to review their resiliency posture at any time, ensuring that all necessary components are prepared for a Region switch before an actual outage occurs, thereby reducing the risk of downtime.

How does the resiliency dashboard work?

The dashboard tracks the synchronization status of resources that are natively replicated by Amazon Connect. If a resource is not properly configured for failover—for example, if a phone number or user is not associated with a traffic distribution group—the page flags it as needing action. This allows administrators to associate the affected resources directly from the dashboard to ensure they are ready for a regional transition.

Is this feature available in my region?

This feature is available in all AWS Regions where Amazon Connect Customer Global Resiliency is supported.
